Mass of Remembrance and Faure Requiem - Sat., Nov 3, Vigil Mass 5:00 P.M.

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE AND FAURE REQUIEM
There will be a special Mass of Remembrance that will feature the Faure Requiem, the JGS Choir, and guest organist on Saturday, November 3 at the 5:00 Vigil Mass. A requiem is a funeral mass setting, sung in Latin, and Gabriel Faure wrote one of the greatest Requiems ever composed. The music and mass settings for this celebration (Entrance Chant, Offertory, Holy, Lamb of God, Communion, Recessional) will all be from the Faure Requiem, and translations will be available in the program.  What is a Requiem, you might ask? A Requiem is a "Mass for the Dead" and usually offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

All of our dearly departed whose funerals were at JGS this year will be remembered in this special Mass of Remembrance, and all are invited to attend this event.    For more information, or if you would like to support this challenging musical endeavor, please contact Katie Evans at music@ccjgs.org.
