Serving God through our Artistic Hands
The adult art room is a place for community members to get to know each other and share a sense of belonging through art.
Shepherds Hands Potters offers a unique setting to escape the pressure and stress of everyday living and find peace through art in the presence of God. The studio goals are to create a peaceful environment where we can create pottery for personal use, enjoy fellowship and serve the community by creating art for charities.
Open studio hours for experienced potters are: Sunday 10-2; Tuesday 9-1; Wednesday 4-8; Thursday 9-1
Community Events
Our annual pottery sales helped fund the youth ministry trips, a new projector purchase, organ repair for the music ministry, etc. In addition, annual donations are given on behalf of JGS to Project Echo Homeless Shelter, Humane Society of Calvert County.
The "Caring Vase" project coordinated with Calvert Hospital provides handmade vases and flowers to oncology patients and their families, bringing a ray of sunshine to their day.
Quarterly "Try your Hands" clay workshops are offered to the JGS community. The workshops include two (2) days of fun while working with clay and finished pottery to take home.
